Gheluvelt Park
Situated on the outskirts of the city of Worcester, this wonderful park has historical significance and a tranquil countryside setting. This beautiful green space was created to commemorate the Worcestershire Regiment's role in the First World War. The park is adorned with statues, plaques, and a memorial that pays homage to the brave soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives during the Battle of Gheluvelt in 1914.
Beyond its historical importance, Gheluvelt Park offers picturesque views of the surrounding Worcestershire countryside, with its rolling hills, meandering rivers, and quaint English cottages. It is a peaceful retreat for those looking to escape the bustling city life and immerse themselves in nature.
For children, there are play areas, playing fields and an outdoor splash pad. For teenagers/adults, there are tennis courts, a table tennis table and an outdoor gym.
Toilets: Yes, see opening times.
Parking: Free parking is available on Waterworks Road WR1 3EZ.
